Welcome to Week 8 of Summer Sampler 2016, and happy Independence Day to those of you in the U.S.! I’ll be spending my day hosting our usual Fourth of July bash, but before I commence partying, let’s check out this week’s block!
This one comes to us from Lynne Goldsworthy of Lily’s Quilts. As you can see, we’re making a few half-square triangles this week. LOL. But don’t worry, because Lynne has a quick and easy way to make super accurate half-square triangles—without trimming! We’re using templates this week instead. It’s all explained in this week’s block instructions (and of course, the templates are there as well). This is one of my favorite ways of making HSTs, so I hope you all enjoy it as well.
And the resulting block is just gorgeous! I could see about a million uses and variations on a block like this. I can’t wait to see what you all do with it, under the #summersampler2016 hashtag.
All together now—we’re really getting there!
